Our passion is to glorify God by making disciples of Christ who live God-centered lives of grace.
There are five core values we embrace to guide our ministry.
When any one part of these values is missing we are not fulfilling God's desire for our lives as a church or as individuals.
Worshiping God with our life.
Worship should encompass the totality of our lives. That is the ultimate response and application of the Bible. Matthew 22:37-40 reads, "Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Growing in the character of Christ.
God does not redeem us in Christ to stay as we are, but to personally and continually grow and be set apart for God's holy purposes. Growing is a mental, spiritual, emotional and relational growth. Ephesians 4:13-16 states we should keep growing "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
Loving others.
One of the marks of a mature disciple is the measure of their love for others. Before Jesus returned to the Father, He gave his followers a new commandment. It's an enhancement of the greatest commandment. Jesus said John 13:34-35, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Believers must also increase our love for all people. Galatians 5:14 says, "the entire law is summed up in a single command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Serving with our gifts.
We must use the spiritual abilities God has given us to help build and strengthen Christ's church. 1 Peter 4:10 says, "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms." When we do not serve with our gifts, we miss great opportunities to grow in Christ, and the church misses the contribution we would bring. Fortunately, every believer has been given at least one spiritual gift. When we partner with God and serve Him in the church, He produces results that can only come from Him.
Reaching others for Christ.
We are intentional about investing in the lives of others so we can share the good news of God's love and forgiveness in Christ with them both locally and globally. Jesus came to seek and save what was lost and He has commissioned his followers to continue His mission until He returns. After his resurrection Matthew 28:18-20 records, "Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
