Director of Junior High Ministry Pat Murphy

Describe how you came to faith in Christ:
I came to faith in Christ at Vacation Bible School at Voyagers Bible Church on July 2, 1993. I truly started to walk my own faith when I was in Junior High.

Your family:
I am one of six in my family and I am the oldest of four children in the Murphy family. Matthew is the second oldest along with my two sisters Mollie and Emilee. My parents are Francis and Laurie.

Education and ministry experience:
I attend Biola University. I served in leadership in the High School youth group while I was in High School. Those experiences helped prepare me for this opportunity to serve with my former Youth Pastor, Sean Aday. Working on staff at GCC is my first vocational ministry experience.

What is your role at GCC?
My role is serving at the Junior High Ministry Director, so I work with our sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

What are you most passionate about in ministry at GCC?
My passion at GCC is for the Junior Highers to find their identity in Jesus Christ and in the fellowship of believers. Junior High is a time where kids start making decisions on how they are going to live their lives and who their peers are. I want them to make the right decision for Christ now and be influenced by the lives of other faithful believers.
